About us

Catherine Darnell - Founder of Darnell Fitness and Wellbeing


Catherine is passionate about physical and mental health and has run Darnell Fitness and Wellbeing for 14 years. She holds a 2:1 honours degree from the University of Birmingham and numerous sporting and coaching qualifications. She is also a registered CIMPSA professional.


Catherine has great insight into the difficulty of finding time to de-stress, eat well and exercise properly amongst all the demands of modern life. Catherine draws on her background as a senior manager in the charity sector prior to setting up Darnell Fitness and Wellbeing and combines this with her lived experiences of modern life as an entrepreneur and mum.


Catherine’s focus is on delivering pragmatic support to her clients – this means advice and guidance on things that are realistic and achievable not the latest fad. The words that crop up most commonly in her testimonials are empathy, focus and fun. Catherine has a highly personalised focus to her work, seeking lots of detail before working with a client to design an appropriately tailored approach. She also has a great deal of ‘lived’ experience with the issues in which she coaches. This ensures she truly understands the needs of all of her clients.


Her mantra is quality over quantity – by making a few optimal adjustments to life you will get the best, and most lasting results.
