1 in 3 women and 1 in 8 men suffer from pelvic floor problems. These can include issues such as:
- Leakage with coughing, sneezing or exercising
- Pelvic pain
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Vaginal dryness and/or prolapse
- Painful intercourse
- Bowel issues including constipation, diarrhoea, flatulence, straining
- Prostate issues
We work with men and women either one-to-one, in small groups or with a ‘buddy’ to deliver a detailed (and bespoke) programme over a four-week period. The sessions are either in person or online and complemented with a private members Facebook group, study guide, link with a women’s or men’s health physio and a home video programme). It covers the following areas:
- The importance of breathing
- Correct pelvic floor contraction and relaxation
- Stress incontinence, urgency and frequency
- Bowel conditions
- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Practical exercises to help strengthen and/or relax the pelvic floor
- The relationship with the muscles of the spine, the core and the hips
